Hi, I’m Shelby Bernhaut, a mother of five boys and the founder of Babies Are Us, a dedicated newborn care team supporting families during the early months of parenthood.

For the past nine years in Israel, I’ve been helping parents navigate the intense and beautiful transition into life with a newborn. I understand how overwhelming those first weeks can feel, and my goal is to provide both practical support and peace of mind so parents can rest, recover, and feel more confident caring for their baby.

I lead a carefully selected team of five trained night caregivers. Each team member undergoes background checks and receives guidance on the standards of care we provide. When I am not personally available, I send one of my trusted team members so families can always receive the same level of attentive, calm, and reliable support.

Our overnight care focuses on supporting both baby and parents throughout the night. We assist with newborn care such as bathing, baby massage, gentle exercises that can help relieve gas, and soothing techniques to help babies settle and sleep. We also help maintain the baby's environment by washing and sterilizing bottles and pumping equipment and taking care of the baby’s laundry.

Beyond the practical care, I place a strong emphasis on educating and empowering mothers. During our time together, I guide parents through what to expect in the first six months of their baby’s life, including daily and evening routines, feeding patterns, sleep habits, and developmental milestones. Our team also supports families during special moments such as brit milah ceremonies, providing both practical assistance and post-brit care for the baby.

Safety, professionalism, and calm support are at the heart of everything we do. As a mother myself, I know how valuable it is to have someone steady and experienced by your side during those early months.
Our overnight services are available in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Ra’anana, Netanya, Hod Hasharon, Rehovot, and Rishon Letsion.
